Distributed ID is developing a solution for the confirmation, notarization, and validation of your digital identity, using the security of blockchain.
Duncan Brown, CEO and Merrick Reed CTO of Distributed ID talk about the importance of online identification and explain how this is going to help individuals confirm their identity without revealing personal info, when confronted with AML and KYC compliance from banks or other institutions.
Surprisingly, people can be uniquely identified by non conventional means, such as how they use their smartphone (which apps they tend to open, which parts of the screen they touch more than others, how they text, etc).
In an age where anonymity and privacy is becoming more and more scare, and the need to control your identity and your private information is becoming critical, Distributed ID aims to securely and quickly identify people and put their identity and personal data back where it belongs – under the user's control.

0:48.0	I was, I've been doing intros of companies, but I find that the companies do a much better job themselves.
0:54.7	So if you wouldn't mind, you know, first question for listeners is, what do you guys do with Distributed ID?
0:59.6	What's your business model and what do you guys work on? So the survey that I was founded on the kind of simplistic view that there isn't really an
1:10.0	ID platform out there.
1:12.0	And what that means is that without verifiable without one
1:17.1	source of truth we can't verify someone across the internet and this was
1:22.2	built out of a hack phone in St. Louis back in June
1:25.0	based on the principle that like there are a whole bunch of notaries and a whole
1:28.7	bunch of services that will verify documents and put them on the blockchain,
1:35.0	verify something, put them on a blockchain, but they don't actually verify who you are
1:38.4	before they do that. And this, what I didn't really realize was a huge kind of field and a lot of people are looking into and hasn't really been solved yet.
