who helps us out behind the scenes here.

My name is Antonia Akitunde.

Antonia is on our editorial board.

She helps us define stories for the show.

I asked Antonia to work with us because she's got this awesome project called Modernia.

It's a website where she features interviews with black women,

black mothers specifically, who have interesting jobs.

Yeah, from my perspective, it was a way of filling a void in the media landscape

where black women are presented outside of the stereotypes.

You're either the welfare mom stereotype, the angry black woman stereotype,

and then there's only one Michelle Obama.

And I wanted to show that there was different ways and spaces of being black and being a mother

and being a career woman.

For myself and also I figured other people would be interested in that as well.

Modernia has all kinds of content geared toward black working moms.

There's lifestyle tips like how to handle the stress of working while black beauty tips,

how to care for your skin and hair.

There's tips on family relationships, like how to deal with unwelcoming in-laws.

And there's a whole series on mental illness in the black community.

Modernia is just stunning visually.

The photos are huge, colorful, beautifully shot.
