Welcome to our daily rosary meditation. Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen. Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

God isn't just concerned with our outward behavior. He doesn't just want us to perform well.

He wants us to actually be good people, to be virtuous.

And he knows, because he's the one who made us,

that we won't be really good people

and we won't be really happy

if we indulge in disordered thoughts, if we have cultivated

disordered desires.

In other words, it's not enough to avoid physically engaging in sin.

We have to cut sin off at the root.

And often the root is the wrong desires, disordered desires.

And that's why God gave Moses the last two commandments, the ninth and the tenth, so that we would not have the

disordered desire of lust or the disordered desire of greed and selfishness and the disordered desire of pride.

Why? Because if we want to be virtuous, then not only our thoughts and our actions, but also our

feelings, our desires have to be good.

That's actually what it means to be virtuous.

When your thoughts are good, your desires are good,

and your actions are good. All three.

Our Father who art in heaven, hallow would be your name, Thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us to stay our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us
