Summary

On today’s Disney Podcast, we are diving deep into the Disney Dining Plan and figuring out if it’s worth it for you. Whether it is the Quick Service Dining Plan or the Disney Dining Plan, guests have been pre-paying for meals and snacks at Walt Disney World since the program came back in early 2024, after the shutdowns. The plans are different than they used to be though… The last time we discussed dining plans in-depth was when they came back nearly two years ago. So, it’s time to take another look to see if the value is really there when it comes to purchasing a Disney Dining Plan. Enjoy!

Today we are talking about two topics that are very near and dear to my heart.

0:04.1

Number one is food and number two is money.

0:06.8

Hello and welcome to a dick to the mouse.

Today is Wednesday, August 13th.

And this is examining the Disney dining plan, should you or shouldn't you?

0:17.2

Oh! Hey, everybody. Hey, everybody, Dan Leslie here. Thanks for joining us today. And I can attest to the fact that money and food are both near and dear to his heart.

0:39.4

I mean, we're talking about how to eat more of it and how to save money while doing it. Like,

0:44.2

that's just the perfect combination right there. All right. Well, before we get into that, we do have a couple of things.

0:51.1

First and foremost, we are pre-recording this because we are going on the start of

0:56.0

the seas preview sailing for Royal Caribbean that I am very much looking forward to.

1:01.2

This kind of snuck up on me, to be honest with you. Like, we were so focused, like, first on our

1:05.6

Alaska cruise in June, and then our three-week European adventure with the boys just a couple of weeks ago. We just got back less than two weeks ago. So we got invited on the Star of the Seas for this preview cruise. It's a three-night sailing out of Porcanavral. That's where the star is going to be its home port. And we cannot wait for this now. Now I'm excited about it. Now that we're back from Europe and all of that is good. This is, so we went on the preview crews of the ICON two years, almost two years

1:33.4

ago coming up on two years. January of 2024. We liked it so much though we booked the Utopia

1:38.6

New Year's Eve cruise. So we paid full price for that staying in a crown loft suite, which was an

1:43.0

amazing experience. And they were back on Star of Lough suite, which was an amazing experience.

1:44.7

And they were back on Star of the Seas, which is Icon's sister ship. So it's like another one of the biggest cruise ships in the world. It's just like a carbon copy. So we're going to really enjoy it because we were really overwhelmed when we went last January on Icon. We didn't really know what to expect. our sailing on Royal Caribbean, and it was on the biggest ship in the world, literally. So now that we understand how Royal works, the different spaces, what's on board, I'm looking forward to the next three days. Like, we can really like enjoy it and just take you guys with us on the YouTube channel. I think it's going to be fun. Yeah. And then we're

2:17.6

going to do a recap on Sunday for Sunday's podcast as well. But yeah, I'm looking forward to it

2:21.6

as well. I am very, very excited about Back to the Future being on board. Yeah. I mean, the, so

2:28.6

traditionally, like we are huge fans of Disney stage shows, Broadway shows. And to be fair, like Utopia really didn't

2:36.3

have a great Broadway show. Like that had a review show on stage that we didn't even, we hadn't

2:41.0

heard great things about it. But Wizard of Oz was the stage show on icon. And if back to the
