culture we often view retirement as a time to kick back and relax.

I mean I've earned the chance to coast, but if you've got grandchildren it's an important

time there's work to be done and you have a

chance to encourage your grandchild's faith in a really powerful way I'm John

Fuller along with Danny Werta Danny's a licensed clinical social worker and his focus on the family's vice president of parenting and Danny.

Let's talk generally about the concept of discipling grandchildren.

What does that mean and look like?

It's so important.

I love the idea of grandparents being able to invest in their grandkids' lives in a way where they have more free time potentially and maybe more

appreciation and more life experience to offer grandkids and in the way this looks like, John, is a grandparent being intentional about connecting

with the grandkids, but also listening and learning about who the grand kid is.

I see so many grandparents coming in,

wanting to intentionally invest

in their grandkids' lives,

in grandkids saying,

my grandparents don't even really know me.

I know what they want me to learn and they want me to know and the kids end up listening more to the grandparents than the grandparents listening to the grandkids.

So intentional discipling is about listening to who God is creating your

grandchild to be and in stepping into those moments sharing maybe life

experiences and stories but letting your grandchild share with you and they will love being with you instead of
