Well, hello and welcome to another episode of the Prophecy Prose podcast.

0:09.6

We've been talking about how to use Bible prophecy to reach the next generation.

0:14.1

And today we're talking about discipleship in Bible prophecy.

0:18.4

If you were with us the last episode, we talked about the gospel in Bible prophecy. Well, obviously, once you reach them for Christ, you got to grow them in Christ. That's right. So that's what we're talking about today is discipleship and Bible prophecy. How does Bible prophecy lend itself to discipleship for students or even for us as adults? Really, the principles are the same, but in the context

0:38.9

of students is the main thing we're talking about. But what are some ways that Bible

0:44.0

prophecy can be leveraged for discipleship, growing in Christ, becoming more like Christ?

0:49.3

Yeah, because that's really the goal. The goal is to deepen students, to deepen believers in Christ. I mean, I think about what Paul said to the Ephesians, and Ephesians chapter 4. He said, look, the job of a pastor is to equip. And he says, well, equip for what? He says, equip for them for the work of service. Well, what happens after he does that?

1:11.6

Well, he says, so that they won't be tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine, but that they

1:20.0

will be able to grow up in all aspects unto Christ. And that's the job of every true pastor is to do that. And when that happens,

1:29.9

they are not let astray by trickery and deceitful scheming of men. He goes on to talk about

1:37.7

in the book of Colossians about how that his goal was for them to be complete in Christ. And I love that because in

1:47.5

Colossians chapter 1 says, we proclaim him admonishing every man and teaching every man

1:53.0

with all wisdom that we may present every man complete in Christ. And, you know, this is critical.

2:05.0

Even he goes on to talk to Timothy, and he tells Timothy, he says, to, you know, continuing the things that you've been taught. And he goes on and on and on.

2:11.4

I mean, really, Paul just goes on a, like a huge rant on the importance of Bible doctrine and sound teaching.

2:19.4

Well, that presupposes that there's depth there.

2:23.1

And it's important for us to use the scripture to help deepen people after they're saved.

2:28.7

You know, one of the huge issues that we have in the church today, and people said this many times, is that the American church is a mile wide and an inch deep.

2:38.5

And people are coming on Sunday mornings and not all churches, but to many churches, and they're getting a self-help sermon.

2:46.2

And they're leaving with a little tidbit because that's all the pastor thought they could handle.

2:51.4

That's actually not true if you're a believer in Christ. You can handle tremendous depth in the

2:56.4

Lord. Now, as it relates to Bible prophecy, though, I think it's important to point out the fact
