Verse 31, it says, then he went down to Capernaum, speaking of Jesus, a town in

Galilee and on the Sabbath he taught the people. They were amazed at his

teaching because his words and authority, his words had authority. In the synagogue

there was a man possessed by a demon, an impure spirit. He cried out at the top of

his voice. Go away. Go away. What do you want with us? Jesus of Nazareth? Have

you come to destroy us? I know who you are. The holy one of God. I'm not even

going to bother that. Does he'll know your name? Okay. All right. Be quiet. Jesus

said sternly. Why? Because you don't let devil's talk. Be quiet. Jesus said

sternly. Come out of him. Then the demon threw the man down before them all and

came out without injuring him. And all the people were amazed and said to each

other, what words are these? What words these are? With authority and with

power he gives orders to impure spirits and they come out. And the news about

him spread throughout the surrounding area. A verse of emphasis and the

scripture of importance that we're going to unpack and have camp for tonight's

preaching presentation is where our foundational text tells us in verse 34 in

the middle of church. While Jesus is preaching, while Jesus is exegeting a

passage in Isaiah while he's exegeting a passage in Jeremiah while he is

trying to get people to understand the ethics and the power and the codes and
