When I was a young man during the McCarthyism period, people were trying to disbar lawyers

and disbar communists and not allow them to practice the profession because they didn't

sufficiently believe in democratic principles. I fought it then and I'm going to

fight it now. More than 5,000 law students, law professors, and lawyers have signed a petition trying to disbar

Senators Cruz and Hawley for the speeches they made on the floor of the United States Senate,

in one case calling for a commission to investigate the election and another case calling for votes to be taken against certifying

the election.

I disagreed with their speeches and so did the majority of the House and Senate.

They rejected them in the marketplace of ideas.

But disbarring lawyers, disbarring senators for exercising their rights under the First Amendment and the Speech and

debate clause. Now that's an American and you'll hear why on the dirt show.

More than 5,000 law students and law professors from universities like Harvard, Yale and

5,000 have signed a petition calling for the disbarment, the disbarment of senators,

Ted Cruz and Holly. This petition tells us more about what's happening

to cancel culture and the Constitution of the United States than any other event in recent times.

I thought that when Harvard University fired Ron Sullivan, a dean of a college because they disapproved of

or many of the students disapproved of who his client was, Harvey Weinstein, I thought we had reached the depths

of cancel culture. But this is so much worse. These 5,000 students and faculty represent the future of our legal

profession and the future of our Constitution because it's the legal profession that protects our Constitution.

It's lawyers who stand between the government and individuals. lawyers who are the ones who prevent tyranny,

whether you agree with them or disagree with them, whether they're lawyers who represent good guys or bad guys.

Lawyers stand at the bastions of democracy.
