Now, here's the thing about power in Washington, and I've had a front row

seat to how it actually works, not how it's supposed to work. In the rule book, well, it's more

like a suggestion manual, and what we're watching right now, it's not just politics as usual.

It's a stress test on the Constitution, on the system, on whether anyone in charge is still

willing or able to say enough.

Let's start with the ticking clock that nobody seems eager to hear.

May 1, 60 days since military action kicked off with Iran, and under the War Powers Resolution Act, that is the

deadline, not a guideline, not a polite suggestion, a hard stop unless Congress signs off. Now, in the

normal world, and I get it, that sounds almost quaint, you'd expect a serious debate, you'd expect accountability.

Instead, what we're staring at is a familiar question.

What happens when the president just ignores it?

Because let me tell you something I learned the hard way.

Laws don't enforce themselves.
