It's time for our weekly podcast show a day later, and I'm your host, Dan Bardell, joined by Jacob Tanswell, to review the transfer window, give a bit of a debrief on the January transfer window, and also take a belated look back at that horrible day at Marleneau, which I really don't want to do, but I suppose we better cover it for at least five minutes if we can, Jacob.

Jacob, it's of course the Aston Villa correspondent for the Athletic and Jacob, I bet you are glad that the transfer window is shut because you were probably the busiest of all the UK journalists in terms of covering an individual team at the Athletic.

Yeah, I think so. I think it was 15 days straight as what I've been working for. So I think today and until Thursday I might just take a little

bit easier. But you'd listen, you'd rather be busy than they're not. And you'd rather

your team be in the news than not because it shows that there's interest in the cloud. There's

lots of things to write about. And now, yeah, we go back to actual

footwork. I can concentrate on things other than transfers, which is what I became a journalist for.

I don't want to become a David Ornstein that has to do transfers. I don't particularly enjoy it,

but I'm getting more comfortable with it. I don't mind doing it. I think I've become pretty good at it,

but I'd rather just get back to long-form pieces

and doing things that I prefer to do.

Yeah, I know how busy you've been.

I know how many people you've been speaking to day-to-day,

and you have worked hard.

So credit to you, as busy as the people are at a villa,
