In 2008, a young woman participated in a wellness retreat that would change her life forever.

She was set to return home to her parents, but she came back home from the retreat paranoid,

frightened, and convinced someone was out to get her.

When making her arrangements to come home, she walked out the door of a local copy center and was never seen again. Today, we're talking about the unfortunate disappearance of Christine Walters.

It's another January day, another chilly day here, and I'm your resident mystery enthusiast

Trevor Collins joining me hearing this case for the very first time, Alfredo Diaz. If I came back for my trip and I said someone's out to get me, would you believe me? I don't know, man, because our history of playing games together is that you kind of put these seeds of fear and doubt in my head. And so you're the boy that cried Wolf and you put yourself in that position. So on one hand, I'd be like, we need it. We, you and I need to establish a keyword.

True.

You drop an Anamontapia on me or something and I wake up like a, like a civil war agent, you know.

And you're like, oh, this is serious lock in.

Right.

Yeah, dude, this is a very eerie case.

And I will say right out of the gate, what helps make it eerie, aside from the already known elements, are the unknown elements. I mean, it is, when anyone goes disappearing, it's so this could happen to anyone kind of energy. It's terrifying.

Yeah.

But this being relatively recent, 2008, one of our more recent cases is kind of like blurring that line that we kind of draw. Despite it being relatively recent, it has a lot of unknowns to the point that one of the key elements of the timeline is actually, depending on the source, disagreeable on where she was found before she finally disappeared.

So it is definitely one of those darker cases with some interesting theories behind it,

but otherwise this is definitely going to be one of those cautionary tales.

What makes this, at least initially right now, interesting, is the fact that it's a case

in the modern day, especially like 2008 with technologies, you know, it's progressed a substantial

amount at that point, even in 2008, and having little to know evidence on a disappearance.
