We did warn you that our summer might be a little sporadic just because we have a lot of backpacking and hiking trips planned. Yeah, this one, honestly, this one,

1:05.3	violently ill from it. I think she got elevation sickness is what happened and we're actually going to be

1:17.7	insane. Lots of crazy things happened on that trip. Yeah, it was it was awesome but yeah,
1:24.5	I got violently ill from it so we were not able to record earlier this week.

1:36.2	So, today we are talking about Charles McCuller.
1:41.6	In 1975, 19-year-old Charles or Chuck McCuller would vanish while hiking in Crater
1:48.4	Lake National Park. And this is in Clemouth County in Oregon. Charles was born on July 20 of
1:56.3	1955 at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C. He was a photographer and known for his love of the outdoors.
2:06.2	So nature photography is what he specialized in. And on January 8 of 1975, Charles left his home in
2:14.2	Virginia to go on a cross-country trip. He wanted to visit all the national
2:18.6	parks in the United States. He would be taking buses and hitchhiking. And he did keep in contact
2:25.6	with his parents. They heard from him on January 16th and January 22nd while he was in Utah,
2:33.6	and the last call that they would get from him was on January 27.
