Summary

On November 18th, 2012, 13-year-old Dylan Redwine traveled to Durango, Colorado for a court ordered visit with his father. After getting off of the plane, Dylan’s father Mark told the young teenager he had to run errands early the next morning. This prompted Dylan to make plans to meet with a friend early in the morning before his dad left the house. When Mark awoke the next morning, Dylan was still asleep on the couch, but when he returned home, his son was nowhere to be found. All calls and texts to his son went unanswered, and his friends stated they hadn’t seen or heard from Dylan. As the hours passed, Mark became increasingly concerned as he lived in a rugged, mountainous area. The days quickly turned into weeks and eventually months, until Dylan’s remains were recovered on a rural mountain road just 8 miles from his father’s home. After his death was ruled a homicide, investigators were made aware that the young teenager had discovered and confronted his father about some compromising information his brother had found on the computer the year prior. But was this allegedly devout father really willing to kill his son over his dirty little secret?    Written by Ryan Williams, Executive Produced by Michael Ojibway.   Visit Invisible Choir on the web:  Patreon - Invisible Choir Premium:  https://www.patreon.com/InvisibleChoir  Website:  https://www.invisiblechoir.com/  Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/InvisibleChoirPodcast/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/invisiblechoir/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/InvisibleChoir Written/Audio Sources:  People’s Trial Exhibits Father threw away missing son’s photos Durango Attractions Timeline Prosecution in murder trial focuses on Dylan Redwine’s remains Photos used in Redwine murder trial released to public Dad didn’t seem interested in missing son search Witnesses describe finding Dylan Redwine’s remains Indictment in Dylan Redwine’s murder case details gruesome evidence Indictment Mistrial declared in Mark Redwine trial Murder Trial for Mark Redwine Resumes After Judge’s COVID-19 Test Negative As expected, trial postponed for La Plata County man suspected of killing son Opening statements wrap up in day 1 of the Mark Redwine trial Friends recount final conversations with Dylan Redwine Recap of testimony from prosecution, defense Why an expert believes Dylan Redwine’s death was a homicide Mark Redwine trial: Expert witness for defense Animal attack “highly unlikely” in Dylan Redwine’s death Dylan Redwine suffered skull fracture, sharp force injury ‘I don’t believe he did it’ Mark Redwine killed his son because their relationship was ruined People vs. Mark Redwine: Guilty on all counts Uncut: Mark Redwine talks about sons’ disappearance Mark Redwine Trial Day 3, Elaine Hall Part 1 Mark Redwine Trial Day 3, Cory Redwine Mark Redwine Trial Day 2, Ryan Nava Investigators search home of Dylan Redwine’s father KUSA - Dylan Redwine - mom’s uncut interview KUSA - Dylan Redwine - dad’s uncut interview Interview with Dylan Redwine’s Dad Candlelight vigil held for Dylan Redwine Reaction to Dylan Redwine’s death being ruled a homicide Mark Redwine Trial Day 8 - Direct Exam of Leigha Foster Denver7 legal analyst on Dylan Redwine case Video of Mark Redwine arrest Dylan Redwine’s Brother Reacts to Father’s Arrest Mark Redwine Bellingham, Washington court appearance Son, first ex-wife testify Mark Redwine news conference Dylan Redwine’s brother details ‘disgusting’ photos Mark Redwine Trial Day 9 - Brandon Redwine Mark Redwine verdict Dylan Redwine’s mom and brother give statement   Music & Sound Effect Sources Opening Track: “Detour Switch” by Cobby Costa Closing Track: “The Fig Tree” by Jakob Ahlbom   Music & Sound Effect Sources All music and sound effects used with express permission under unlimited blanket license authority from Epidemic Sound ® and SoundStripe ®.  Individual sources are available via request at info@invisiblechoir.com  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
