On October 2nd, 2018, Saudi dissident and Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi

entered the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Istanbul to pick up documents for his upcoming wedding.

While his fiance nervously waited outside for hours, Khashoggi was ambushed, suffocated,

and dismembered by a 15-member squad of Saudi assassins.

The official line from the Saudi government was that it was an unfortunate accident,

but investigations by the Turkish police and the United Nations,

as well as human rights organizations, the U.S. Congress, and virtually every member of the

global free press, determined that it was a deliberate execution, ordered from the man at the

very top, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, often referred to simply as MBS.

Now, Academy Award-winning director Brian Fogel unravels the deeper mystery surrounding

Khashoggi's murder and the extraordinary efforts that MBS will take to silence his critics

in a gripping new documentary thriller called The dissident.
