Rumors around Diontae Johnson's potential contract extension continue to swirl, and the Pittsburgh Steelers may have a tough decision on their hands while voluntary team workouts begin. But are those rumors true? Johnson made some cryptic tweets about his situation that left Steelers fans wondering if he might want a major payday with his next contract. He's rumored to want $22 million/year, but such a contract wouldn't be as costly as some might think with the rapidly rising NFL salary cap, and might actually be a reasonable price for a team's top receiver. But the questions is: is he worth that? Even if the Steelers can get Johnson to agree to a long term deal, Kevin Colbert and Mike Tomlin need to have backup plan in place for the wide receiver position. Not only should the team sign a free agent wide receiver in a pool of players that still has Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry, Emmanuel Sanders, T.Y. Hilton, Keelan Cole and Will Fuller, but the team should also be aggressive in the NFL Draft to get two wide receivers, one in the top 60 picks of the draft and another that will come after the third round.
