0:28.0	On Sunday morning, March 11th, 2012, it started out as just a normal crisp spring day.
0:34.8	But that all changed when a local jogger crossed a pedestrian bridge and was caught
0:39.8	off guard. The jogger dials 911 and he explains that he is just below the golf course and blood
0:46.8	is splattered all over the bridge. It could be from an animal and that there's a red Keds style

0:57.1	And you have to wonder if the jogger had just walked by, maybe assuming it was animal
1:02.3	blood, this whole story might have been different or even erased by the rain.
1:07.6	But the combination of that blood and a single red shoe, that's what made it impossible
1:13.6	to ignore. Right. And this was a quiet, peaceful community. You wouldn't expect to see something
1:19.9	like this during a morning jog. And as for the officers that showed up, their immediate instinct was
1:26.8	that this had to be from some kind of animal.
1:29.9	To know for sure, investigators ran a rapid field test right there on the scene. And within minutes,
1:35.9	the test confirmed their worst fear. This was, in fact, human blood and a terrifying amount of it.
1:43.1	Police immediately launched a massive search of the trail in surrounding woods, but for hours,
1:48.9	they found absolutely nothing.
1:51.1	In that afternoon, around 2 p.m., about a mile away from the bridge, a helicopter surveying
1:58.0	the area located a body floating down the river.
2:01.8	A specialized search and rescue dive team was called in.
2:05.7	And at approximately 4 p.m., dive crews physically removed the lifeless body from the water.
