Hey everybody, I'm excited to be recording the 10th episode of the All Things Fishing podcast this week. That's right, episode 10, 10 episodes of All Things Fishing. I'm pretty excited. I know it's not a whole lot of episodes, but this is a pretty good start to the show. So this week, I just want to talk a bit about different types of the line.

So there's five types of line that have been used, one of which I'm not even sure you can buy anymore.

So there's fluorocarbon, monofilament, and braided.

So those three are the three main ones that are currently being used quite a bit.

Then there's lead core, which is still used a good

bit for offshore trolling and drakegon, which I'm not even sure you can buy anymore. So

fluorocarbon is a really good fishing line if you want to fish like a clear open water, because

the line itself, like monofilament is clear.

It is a bit more expensive than monofilament.

Just because of the materials it takes to make it, I guess.

I don't really use this type of line because of how expensive it is.

It is a good line, though it holds, I know it holds knots together really well.

But yeah.

Next up is monofilament.

So monofilament is the most common type of line, I'd say.

It is just as strong as fluorocarbon.

It might nick a bit better. It might not be quite as abrasion

resistant. But if you get a pre-spolled combo, this is generally what it's going to have on it.

With fluorocarbon, fluorocarbone sinks, I think Bonofilament does too. I'm not sure about that, though.

With most braided line, though, I know it does sink.
