So earlier you heard Kamala Harris's concession speech.

Now I have to make my concession speech.

I can see that I was wrong in my, what I called

a soft prediction that I thought Trump would lose a close election. I said I wouldn't be

surprised if Trump won. It wouldn't surprise me. But I thought that in the last 10 days, he had snatched defeat from

the jurors of victory and had hurt himself by allowing that comic to go on and a few other

gaps during the last 10 days. I failed to understand a few things.

Number one, a lot of people voted before the last week of the election,

and so those matters didn't influence.

But I think he still would have won.

I just underestimated his incredibly broad strength all over the United States.

I mean, my God, he did well in New York.

He didn't do so badly in California.

Even in the states that he lost, he lost by, with more votes than he had previously had

...
