The answer to this is that multiple parts, first and foremost,

this is the Arabic shawr-u-ya, or seeing Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,

and one of the key fundamentals of Sunni theology in contrast to non-Sunnis,

Mu'at-e-Zilah and the 12-Shia and others, they don't have this perspective.

The Ahl-e-Sunna, they say that the belief is that we will see Allah as the wajal in the hereafter.

And this is something that we say is affirmed in the Qur'an and in the Sunni.

As for the Qur'an, there are at least four verses, two of which are explicit and two of which are implicit,

about the issue of seeing Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.

As for the explicit one, of them, I just recited in Salat al-Ishah,

wujuhun yo-ma'idin naal-dira illa rabbiha naal-dira.

On that day, faces will be naal-dira.

Naal-dira means to be brightened, illa rabbiha naal-dira with a vaad,

because they will be looking at their Lord.

So this is an explicit ayah of the Qur'an.

On the day of judgement, the faces of the believers will be bright, shining, happy,

because they will be looking at Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.

And there is another verse that is also explicit that Allah says in the Qur'an,

that the people who reject Allah, the kafir, on that day,

there shall be a barrier between them and Allah.
