I just think it's an overpay.

I think it's too much.

And I've said that for months, since we've started talking about this, probably years.

It's not been years, because I can tell you when my opinion in terms of what the going rate for A.J. Brown should be changed. And it was when we heard from our friend Albert Breer, again, was months ago, that he had a degenerative knee condition. I was a huge fan of A.J. Brown. Again, for all the reasons I just mentioned, the fit, the position, the style, the play of the quarterback.

You're talking about a 29-year-old receiver who has a bad knee.

And that to me, when you're talking about giving up first-round picks, I'm not saying it's unreasonable,

especially given what we've seen other receivers go for.

It's too much for me, given where the Patriots I think are in their overall

championship aspirational arc.

Patriots on A.J. Brown, but this is a bit of commentary that Phil Perry, excuse me, that Matt McCarthy rejects. Why do you reject it? Well, I would say I did hear the show on Monday. So we've been crushing the Patriots for years for not going out and getting number one receivers to help their young quarterbacks,

going all the way back to Mack Jones.

Hell, we crush the Patriots for not doing enough to help Tom Brady.

Now they have.

They've spent a first round pick, which is what it takes to get players like A.J. Brown.

They've taken on the money, which has also been a criticism of the Patriots.

So they've now done the thing that we've been asking
