The Prime Minister this morning has denied that he and the Chancellor misled the cabinet over the state of the public finances ahead of the budget. And yet, if you read

the Times today on the front page, you'll read quotes from ministers, cabinet ministers, no less,

who feel that they themselves were misled about the state of the public finances ahead of the

budget, which makes you wonder why we should believe the Prime Minister when he tells us that we were not misled when his own Cabinet thinks they

were, thinks they didn't know that the OBI are giving them more headroom than expected.
