Summary

Was there ever a real search for the truth in the Delphi case, or were investigators just playing a game of legal Twister, contorting themselves to fit one narrative while ignoring key evidence? The latest revelations bring back Ron Logan’s alleged confession, the strange behavior of Kegan Klein, and a justice system that seemingly had selective hearing. Why did Ricky Davis, an inmate with no apparent incentive, claim that Logan confessed to him back in 2017—only to have investigators shrug it off like an unwanted jury summons? And what about the allegations that Logan and Klein were exchanging disturbing material? If true, that would make the connections between these men far more than just circumstantial.

Psychotherapist and author Shavaun Scott joins Tony Brueski to dive into the psychology of false confessions, manipulation, and the unsettling motives at play. Were authorities blinded by bias, or is this just a tangled mess of coincidences that happen to look like a cover-up?

The Delphi case has taken yet another turn, and it's not just about legal motions and missing evidence this time.

0:15.0

Well, it actually is kind of about missing evidence as part of it.

0:18.0

It's about psychology, it's about behavior and the human mind behind all of it,

0:24.1

or possibly minds, with an S, plural. With Ron Logan's alleged confession, the eerie behavior of

0:31.3

Kegan Klein, yes, he's now been brought back into the fold with new allegations, and a

0:36.4

prosecution that seemingly ignored key

0:38.4

evidence this case raises serious psychological questions about guilt, deception. I'd say

0:44.9

desperation as well and the power of manipulation. Today we are joined by psychotherapist

0:50.2

Chavon Scott to help us understand what's really going on inside the minds of some of the key players in this case.

0:56.5

And Chavon, let's start here.

1:00.9

We do often see, or how often, rather, do we see confessions, whether true or false, being ignored by law enforcement?

1:10.5

And what does it say about the psychology, both of the suspect

1:13.7

and the investigators, when something this significant is just basically swept under the rug

1:19.6

all those years ago? Yeah, the whole thing is just a muddle. If we're looking at false confessions, and I'm guessing

1:31.9

that's what they believed this was, I mean, maybe, maybe not, but false confessions happen

1:38.2

because of psychosis, which is what we can speculate Richard Allen's confessions were because he was clearly psychotic.

1:46.5

And so a psychotic confession should not be considered a confession.

1:50.6

You're looking at coercion.

1:52.6

And clearly Ricky Davis, the person who's saying he heard Ron Logan's confession,

1:58.1

was not in a situation where he was being coerced by anyone to say this.

2:04.4

Attention seeking, could he have been making it up?
