In previous episodes, we've discussed the emphasis that Oneus Pentecostals place on Acts 238 and its commands to repent, be baptized in the name of Jesus and receive the Holy Spirit.

But there's a school of thought that I wanted you to address today that sometimes gets

tossed at oneness Pentecostals when we're discussing the subject of salvation.

So this is often called hyper-dispensationalism or ultra-dispensationalism.

It's this idea that where Pentecostals would argue that the church started on the day of

Pentecost, these folks would argue that the church, in fact, didn't start till later in Acts,

or even in some cases, they would argue that it didn't start till the end of Acts.

So in this view, Peter and his preaching to the people on the day of Pentecost would only have applied to

the people of Israel that Paul preached a different gospel than Peter did, and Paul's gospel then

is what we should obey today. So these people would say only the teachings essentially that Paul

lays down in the epistles would be relevant to apostolic

Pentecostals. Is there any biblical basis for this way of thinking and how should one

as Pentecosters respond when they hear these types of arguments? There is no basis for this

in the Bible, as I'll show, but there's one positive point here. They seem to think that they can't follow what Peter said because it wouldn't match what Paul

said.

So in kind of a backhand way, they're saying, if you, Pentecostals are right, then we would

have to obey Peter, so Peter's wrong, or not applied to are right, then we would have to obey Peter.

So Peter's wrong, or not applied to us, so we don't have to obey it.

But, of course, I think, so they just focus on Paul.

So they're not trying to explain Peter in terms of Paul.

They're saying, no, we couldn't explain it.
