My grandmother subscribed to a weekly magazine that, for the U.S. audience, was sort of the equivalent to Ladies' Home Journal.

In it, you would find everything from folklore stories, recipes, and stories about local heroes,

but mostly gossip about the royal family. I would occasionally read these magazines myself

when I was bored. I remember one article in particular

being about this medium who claimed that she had found a specific frequency on the AM radio

band that spirits used to communicate with the living from the other side. She even gave the specific

frequency,

which I don't recall now, but back then,

it was supposed to be located near Radio Moscow.
