Kristen, happy Monday. Welcome to the show.

So I want to start with you and what you do. You're a Republican pollster.

You're also a regular on cable news. You conduct focus groups and write guest pieces for the New York Times. And you wrote a book on millennial voters a few years ago, the selfie vote, which was quite prescient about younger voters and social media. So I'm sort of tempted to start by asking if there's anything you don't do. But I actually just want to know, like, what does it mean to be a Republican pollster?

I assume you don't, you know, like spend your week calling a thousand Republican voters personally and asking them what they think of Donald Trump.

But you do something.

That's right.

So for those who are less, you don't work in the polling world, I often get asked, why would you be a

Republican pollster? Does that mean you only survey Republicans? Does that mean you specialize

and study Republicans? What it really means is that for better or worse, in Washington,

consultants kind of have to pick a team. There are nonpartisan pollsters.

You have the gallops, you have the pews, et cetera, of the world. But for those who want to

provide data to partisan clients, you do kind of have to pick a team. You're not really going to

find a pollster that's working for, you know,

progressive left organizations and conservative right-wig organizations. So we wind up,

essentially what it means is I will do polling for clients who are sort of center to center
