He is risen.

He is risen indeed.

This is just the second week of Easter,

but we celebrate the resurrection for 50 days until Pentecost.

So let's not forget the main reason for our hope, The reasons why we believe Jesus really rose from the dead. So let's begin

in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

So did Jesus really rise from the dead? The resurrection is Jesus' main miracle. It's the supreme testimony that he

was everything he said he was, that he is God. If Jesus really died and then he came back from the dead three days

later just as he predicted he would, it means he's the real deal.

It means it's all true.

So what are the alternatives?

There are people who don't believe in Christ, obviously, or in his church.

What do they think happened after the crucifixion? Because obviously something happened.

Christianity is the largest world view on the earth and it's still expanding.

So how do they explain that?

Basically people give about four explanations.

The resurrection story was made up much later, or the disciples hallucinated that Jesus had come back from the dead.

Or the disciples lied and stole his body to support their lie.

And finally, some report that Jesus faked his own death and then pretended to have come back from the dead.

But when you look at things carefully, none of those accounts really holds up.
