Later this week, Christians around the world are going to be celebrating Easter.

Of course, on Good Friday, we're going to remember the death of Jesus Christ, and on Easter

Sunday, we're going to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. But I want to ask you

about that in-between period. Some people have, or there are certain passages of scripture,

I should say. I would note Acts 227 and 1 Peter 319 that seemed to indicate that during that

interval between Good Friday when Jesus died and Easter Sunday when Jesus rose from the dead,

that he entered hell. The latter verse, so 1 Peter 319, refers to Christ preaching to the spirits in prison,

So what does the Bible actually say about that period between Good Friday when Jesus dies

And there's some things we don't know. There's probably more we don't know what we do know. So let's talk about what we do know.

Now, first of all, when we talk about hell in English,

there are two primary words in the Greek New Testament. One is Hades, which means the place of the

dead. It was used in Greek religion or mythology, where people go when they die. It is used as the translation when the New Testament quotes the Old Testament of the Old

also the same meaning place of the dead.

The Old Testament did not have a detailed understanding,

but it was basically understood that when people die,
