0:24.3	call me Mark please mark your most recent book is did America have a Christian
0:28.8	founding and I'm intrigued by this the timing of it I think couldn't not have been better.
0:34.4	What inspired you to write this?
0:36.4	Well, I've been working in this area for about 25 years. I've done a number of academic
0:41.2	books, as you've mentioned, and I've done a number of academic books as you've mentioned.
0:43.5	And I've decided that at this stage of my career,
0:46.0	I want to try to bring these arguments
0:47.6	to the general reading public.
0:49.6	And so this is my first book aimed at the reading public.
0:53.4	It's published by Nelson Books.
0:55.3	It's very accessible, although fully documented.
0:58.2	And basically I hope to convince my fellow Americans
1:00.9	that America had a Christian founding, and this is very good news for all of us.
1:05.0	Why is that good news?
1:07.0	Because I think some secularists might think that's horrible news that America might have had a Christian founding.
1:11.0	That's right.
1:12.7	So what I argue is that America's founders
1:15.2	drew from Christian ideas when they
1:17.4	designed her constitutional order.
