Well, we are going to get into Dick Tracy. Dick Tracy debuted as a comic

script by Chester Gould in 1931 and became one of the most famous comic strips of the era and for decades to come.

You know, when you talk about adventure strips, you know, shorthand for that, you know, in so many

different contexts people will talk about Dick Tracy.

That is a recurring theme, you know.

You'll hear it in so many different programs that were made at the time and movies as well and you also see it

in movies and television shows that are set, say in the 1940s or 50s.

It was such a huge national phenomenon.
