I actually took this stance long before I was here at WIBC. I refused to say anything about someone

in death that I did not say about them in life because I think that makes you an absolutely complete

hypocrite and I refuse

to do that to you are very valuable audience. So when somebody passes a way of prominence of note,

we try to tell you what they did. We offer an opinion on that. Now, I'm not saying that we come on here

and we take victory laps or anything like that or anything inappropriate.

But I think it would be a massive disservice when a public figure passes away for us not to offer opinions on the thing that person did, which made them a public figure.

So you're talking about former Vice President Dick Cheney passing away.

He was 84 years old it happened last night

due to complications from pneumonia cardiac and vascular disease no i think it's fair that's a fair

approach right because some people get mad at me like oh you can't speak ill of the dead well if this

person's name were dick smith we wouldn't be talking about them. We're talking about them because they did

something that had, when we talk about people who have passed away, a impact of some sort

on society as a collective, which makes them worthy of using this valuable airtime to talk about.

And wouldn't it make us disingenuous or me, you're very nice, but wouldn't it make me disingenuous or a hypocrite after years of saying one thing that when they pass away to go, oh, I didn't mean any of that. It was all great. Right. I mean, I don't think that's, I think you're doing the audience of disservice. Yeah, I think you have to present both sides. And the reality with Dick Cheney is he is best known to the public because he was vice president under George W. Bush.

And Dick Cheney was one of the leading advocates and architects of a disastrous foreign policy that profoundly impacted my generation.

People I knew, people I was friends with, people I went to high school

with. And I think it's pretty hard, not, and I'm not in any way impugning the service or

demeaning the service of the people who went. They're heroes, the people who fought in

Iraq, in Afghanistan. Those people have courage. The average person can't even begin to
