The 46th Vice President served for two terms alongside Republican President George W. Bush between 2001 and 2009.

He was an incredibly influential vice president, widely considered the chief architect of

the War on Terror, who helped lead the country into the ill-fated Iraq War on faulty assumptions.

Following the September 11th attacks, Cheney's hawkishness and alarmist view of a nation under attack summarized

a prevailing mood in Washington at the time. And despite remaining a hardline conservative

throughout his life, Cheney was largely ostracized by his party for his fierce criticism of

President Donald Trump, who he branded a, quote, coward, and the greatest ever threat to the
