Summary

Dick Brogden says when Muslims choose to leave Islam behind and follow Jesus Christ, often three things happen along their pathway to Christ: a love encounter, a truth encounter and a power encounter. Listen as Brogden—who’s ministered to Muslims for more than 25 years—shares the story of a power encounter that prepared a couple from Yemen to hear the gospel message and commit their lives to Christ.

He’ll also talk about the role of the American church in standing with Christians facing persecution, and offer advice for those feeling God’s call to missions—he says make disciples where you are now; don’t wait until you arrive on the mission field. Finally, Dick will share about his family’s burden for the nation of Saudi Arabia, and the direction that God is leading them based on that burden.

0:06.1	He says, you don't become a missionary when you land in another country, you become a missionary right now right where you live.
0:14.8	So if you're not making disciples within your own culture and language,
0:18.9	it's very improbable that you'll start doing that in a different language.
0:22.1	So there's nothing magical in that airplane, right?
0:24.0	So you don't get on that airplane and you're not winning souls
0:26.6	and making disciples here.
0:28.1	And then you start doing it when you have all the layers
0:30.7	of other religions, ideologies, difficulties of language etc.
0:34.6	Jesus never promised his followers an easy path. In fact he told his disciples
0:41.3	that the world would hate them.
0:43.3	He sent them out as sheep among wolves.
0:46.2	Jesus's words came true in the life of the Apostles,
0:49.2	and they're still coming true today
0:50.9	in the lives of his followers around the world.
