Today, we're covering three disturbing

cases where intimate relationships turned violent, from a firefighter accused of killing his wife

over a diary entry, to a custody dispute that allegedly left two people dead in front of

their toddlers, to a woman who snapped after learning her husband euthanize their dogs.

We begin in Los Angeles, where a longtime firefighter is behind bars, accused of beating his

wife to death with an axe. Forty-five-year-old Andrew Jimenez, a Glendale Fire Department

paramedic and firefighter since 2008, was detained on January 21st after flagging down officers outside a

police station to request a welfare check at his own home. When officers arrived at the residence,

they found 55-year-old Meira Jimenez with injuries consistent with blunt force trauma. She was not

breathing and was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators recovered

in acts they believe was used in the fatal attack. According to a statement released by Andrew's

attorney, the alleged motive stems from a diary. The statement reads that the defense is in

contact with law enforcement regarding a diary belonging to the victim that was apparently read

moments before the homicide, a diary that to the victim that was apparently read moments before the homicide,

Mayra was an elementary school teacher who also served as a non-denominational minister for weddings.

Friends described her as a devoted fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The couple had been married for approximately 10 years.

Andrew has been placed on administrative leave and is currently being held on $2 million bail as the
