Percy Silato scans the candy jars behind the counter of his sweet shop. He 65 with graying hair

and until last month he ran the British intelligence service MI5. Now he's starting over as C-Side Town

Candyman. Silato scans jars of pair drops and zebra striped humbugs before finding the cola cubes.

The elderly customer watches expectantly as he fills a paper bag with the amber cola flavored hard candy.

Here, thanks. I always get cola cubes when my grandson stays over. He loves cola cubes. He's

coming this weekend he is. Silato isn't listening. He's looking out the window. The two men and

tailored suits are back. He spotted them this morning scoping him out from across the street.

The men move toward the store. Silato figures. It's time to get grandpa out of the way.

Fascinating story but I'm very busy as you can see. The grandpa looks around the empty shop.

How rude! His grandpa storms out. The men enter. Silato stands in his striped apron.

Hello gentlemen. After anything in particular, one of the men steps forward.

Sir Percy's Silato, I represent Sir Ernest Oppenheimer of De Beers. He's inviting you to visit him

in South Africa. He has a job for you. Silato starts untying his apron. He doesn't press his

visitors for more details about the job. He just knows he's done as a shopkeeper. Thank God

I'm going out of my mind with boredom in this place. When can we leave?

January 1954, Johannesburg, South Africa. In the lush grounds of his mansion, Oppenheimer leads

Silato into the Rose Garden. Sir Percy, we need a man of your experience to handle a
