Welcome in to the Diamond Balls podcast on Govall's 247.com. I am Ben McKean. I am joined by former Tennessee baseball pitcher Will Heflin on this Monday, March 9th edition of the podcast. We have a lot to discuss on the podcast. It is a big week for Tennessee baseball. They begin conference play this weekend at number 11, Georgia.

It'll be a very stout test for the balls, to say the least, after what was an interesting

weekend at Lindsay Nelson Stadium, offensive struggles continue.

But pitching staff continues to get better and better,

certainly some things there that can be cleaned up,

but overall a good weekend for the pitching staff.

And Mr. Heflin, we said a four in one week would be great for the team,

and they did go four andand-one last week,

and they won the series with the right state.

They did.

Can we...

Not all four-and-ones are created equal.

If you know you're only going to lose one game,

don't pick Sunday for that to be the one loss.

And certainly don't pick getting shut out in your own park on a Sunday by, with all due respect, not the greatest pitching opposition, at least stuff-wise.

But hey, we said we've done up for it. We got it. Overall, it's a productive week,

but I think we all have a similar feeling in that I don't know if it feels as good as we thought it would

to go the four and one like we said yeah and you got it done they got it done which is important

it was still a good week for Tennessee but, the offense does not inspire a ton of confidence right now.

And I guess that's where we should start, given how the week and weekend ended in such frustrating fashion.

We'll have plenty of optimistic things to discuss before we get out of here.
