Two of the smartest shows on TV that are also going to be incredibly funny.

A rare combination come from the mind of my guest today, co-creator of the show, Sherman's Showcase, and South Side.

Two shows that are alliterative, I guess.

That's what brings them here.

Oh, thank you. You know, it's funny you bring that up because anytime by writing partner and I use shorthand to talk about the shows, we try to just do SS and it just adds to the confusion.

Let's start first talking about Southside, which is it's the kind of thing that I'm not, I don't want to call it any other shows, but it doesn't

take seriously with other shows about the black experience in contemporary terms take

seriously.

But it's also incredibly well acted.

I mean, usually that kind of thing is done played in sketch terms, and they're real

performances.

And I was just sort of thinking, I don't want to give too much away, but the first and

last episodes of the season start with looks at the street, but in very different ways.

Look, we have a lot of really well-trained actors on the show.

Like, it's funny.

Our show is sort of like the extreme. Some of our cast members

have never really had acting experience on other shows, and that's because we intentionally
