This is CNN breaking news.

And we begin with the breaking news right now.

The house is in session and getting ready to consider a breakthrough to pay TSA workers

for the first time since February.

And that would mean relief is on the way eventually for travelers spending

hours and hours in TSA lines sprawling across many U.S. airports. Overnight, the U.S. Senate

voted unanimously to fund most of the Homeland Security Department, including TSA. Democrats

successfully demanded that new funds for ICE and Border Patrol be withheld

to force debate over reforms.

Democrats didn't actually want a solution.

They wanted an issue.

Politics over policy.

In the wake of the murders of Renee Good and Alex Preti,

Senate Democrats were clear, no blank check for a lawless ice and border patrol.

There is bipartisan support in the House to approve this deal before Congress begins a two-week recess
