So, before we get started today, a quick note to remind you that next Saturday and Sunday,

I'll be at Destination D in Florida. Destination D usually has some announcements in terms of

upcoming Disney projects that will likely talk about here on the pod. But obviously I can't

post an episode about Destination D next Sunday if the event

is still going on on Sunday. And I'd rather not wait a week to discuss whatever announcements there

are. So our plan, similar to our plan last year for the D23 Expo, is to simply post next week's show not on Sunday,

but early in the week pretty much as soon as it's finished, probably Tuesday.

So when you don't see a new show next Sunday, just remember I'm posting it early in the week.

And now on to more interesting things.

A couple months back, we posted Memories of Walt Volume 1, which got far more listener

email than I expected.

Today we have Volume 2, a collection of stories that haven't seen the light

of day in over a half century. As you may recall back in 1967 and 1968, Roy Disney put together

a plan to create and hear all quote from one of his memos, a book or books about Walt.

This was a year to two years after Walt's death. And there was a two-step plan. Key artists

and individuals, such as animators Mark Davis and Ward Kimball, would be interviewed in a formal setting while mid and lower

level employees would not. Also not interviewed, executives who worked far from Burbank. But all Disney

employees, especially those not being interviewed, were asked to send in stories as to how they remembered Walt.

Roy's specific directions were that longtime employees should write down anecdotes, and again,

here I'm quoting, about Walt that show the various sides of his nature and character.

These may run the gamut from the warm and humorous to the tough and
