This time I'll read Chapter 1, so you can hear how language, pacing, description, and narrative work in this particular book.

And in this book, the first chapter sets up most of the titles themes and main figures.

This is the story of the Disney Company's struggle to continue with animation

and later to expand live action in the years after Walt's passing.

It's the story of the family feud that plays up between Walt's descendants and those of Roy.

It's the story of how Walt's son-in-law Ron Miller tries to remake the company with stronger

attention to the tastes of contemporary audiences.

It's also the story of how Michael Eisner and Frank Wells essentially push out Ron Miller,

and perhaps more than anything else.

This book is the story of how Disney animation tried to remake itself in the 1970s and 1980s,

with a focus on one of the most controversial features to ever come out of the studio, The Black

Cauldron.

It does all that and it's a fascinating read.
