| 0:00.0 | So today on the podcast, we have our monthly news and analysis episode. We may do two of these |
| 0:07.3 | this month. And in this episode, we'll focus on the parks. First, we'll explore what's |
| 0:13.2 | happening with Disneyland Forward in California. There is a lot of movement here. And even though |
| 0:19.8 | Disney hasn't announced what they will actually |
| 0:22.5 | build as part of this expansion, new environmental and noise policies with the city, which |
| 0:28.8 | are extremely specific, outline the type of attractions that Disney can build in certain areas |
| 0:35.7 | that it already owns in California. |
| 0:38.3 | So we'll take a look at how these policies create a fairly specific outline as to what Disney will likely build there. |
| 0:48.3 | And at least in terms of rides and attraction types, a lot can be extrapolated from these policies. And in the second half of our show, we'll take a look at new additions and ongoing changes at the Florida Resort. In this, we have a very parks focused episode today. So, if you're ready, let's go. |

| 1:34.6 | but there's a lot more beneath the public statements. The public face of this project is a proposal that gives Disney flexibility to build attractions and other projects as they see fit |
| 1:41.1 | on land that they already own in or near the Disneyland resort. |
| 1:45.0 | But beneath this, are a set of very specific requirements that define far more clearly, |
| 1:52.0 | what is and what is not likely to be built in these expansion areas in the years ahead. |
| 1:58.0 | But to get there, let's kick into the story itself. Last month on Tuesday, |
| 2:03.2 | April 16th, the Anaheim City Council met to consider and then vote on the Disneyland forward plan, |
| 2:09.7 | a proposal that if passed, would give Disney the ability to expand the resort in certain ways. |
| 2:15.7 | At the heart of this proposal, which had been put forward and supported |
| 2:19.2 | by Disney, was a desire to move Disneyland from the world's best-known regional theme park |
| 2:25.1 | into something that resembles more of a resort destination, even if the pieces of this destination |
| 2:31.9 | are spread out over a couple of miles. To do this, Disney needed buy-in |
| 2:37.1 | from residents of Anaheim and the City Council. For two years, Disney discussed the matter with |
