I was Dexter Lawrence not in the game in overtime.

He had rested on the last series.

There was a 10-minute break between the end of regulation and the start of overtime.

You have to go through the coin toss and everything else.

You regain your composure, so to speak.

And then you go back out there.

And on first down, which was the only play that the

Lions ran in overtime because Jemir Gibbs went 69 yards, Dexter Lawrence wasn't on the field.

And why not? Carl was going crazy about this, why he wasn't on the field. And afterwards, Mike

Kafka talked about his nagging, nicked up something or other.

I forget the exact terminology, but he was nicked up and he was battling through.

But how I heard that was they're using him on past rush situations only.

This was in his press conference today on Monday when asked again

specifically about why Dexter Lawrence wasn't out there. And I thought this was a great question.

I'm pretty sure this is Pat Leonard asking specifically who made the decision, why the decision was made.

So here's the question and the answer in regards to Dexter Lawrence not being on the field,

especially in overtime.

On Dexter Lawrence, were you told by the medical staff he was not available due to that

injury at the start of overtime?

Were you told by his position coach he wasn't available?

Was he the one who said he wasn't available?
