All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer.

Oh, I love this verse, especially when you understand the

context. Like, Jesus has just commissioned his followers. You'll receive power from the Holy Spirit.

You're going to be my witnesses to the ends of the earth.

And then he takes the flight of all flights up to heaven, just ascends in front of their eyes.

And they're dumbfound and they're like, what just happened?

Jesus just lifted up to the sky and he's gone.

And these angels tell them, he's coming back like what a reminder

one day could be today Jesus is coming back for all who trust in him so keep your eyes on the sky

today but now here they are they've got this commission to go to the ends of the earth, spreading the good news of his love, knowing it's going to cost them, knowing it's going to be hard. Like they've just seen Jesus be killed. He's told them over and over and over again that to follow him means to deny themselves, take up across themselves and follow him. So what do they do?

They get together and devote themselves to whiteboarding a plan. They devote themselves to strategizing.

No, they don't do that. They devote themselves to prayer. They devote their lives to seeking God

because they know there is no way they can do what Jesus has called them to do without God's help,
