Summary
As we walk the plant path, there eventually comes a time when we come up against certain blocks that prevent us from reaching that next level in our practice of herbalism. While it's critical that we learn the external skills, strategies, principles and practices to become an herbalist, there is also an internal component to our work as an herbalist that is essential to address.
In order to be the greatest herbalist possible, in order to reach the next level in our work with plant medicines, there is a necessity to cultivate a new level of confidence and competence in our work- that is, attending to our inner and outer development.
In this video, I share with you 3 critical ways you can develop both you herbal competence and inner confidence that help you to move beyond any blockages you might be facing towards being of service to your family, community and clients in deeper ways.

| 0:00.0 | Hey there everybody, Sagea Popham here, founder of the School of Evolutionary Herbalism. |
| 0:04.8 | And today I want to talk about some critical turning points that all of us face as herbalists |
| 0:11.1 | when we're walking the plant path. And this is the subject of developing your competence, |
| 0:18.2 | as well as your confidence as an herbalist. |
| 0:21.6 | You know, if there's one thing that I've realized over the last, over 10 years |
| 0:26.6 | of being an herbalist myself, as well as interacting with a lot of beginner, |
| 0:32.6 | intermediate, and advanced herbalist all across the world, |
| 0:36.6 | is that we all come against these roadblocks |
| 0:40.7 | in our plant path, things that are holding us back from reaching that next level in our practice |
| 0:48.4 | of herbal medicine. |
| 0:50.1 | And what I've come to realize is that it really ultimately distills down to these two things of confidence and competence. |

| 1:13.6 | needs help and you have the ability to provide them with the help that they need. Whether that's |
| 1:19.9 | something really simple like treating a cough or a basic urinary tract infection or someone's having a hard time sleeping at night to maybe more serious chronic conditions like irritable bowel syndrome or chronic food allergies. |
| 1:37.0 | Or maybe someone needs support in their psychological and emotional health. |
| 1:42.6 | Maybe someone's trying to break through to their next level of their own spiritual development. |
| 1:48.5 | And the whole premise of evolutionary herbalism is that we as herbalists have the ability to support people |
| 1:55.4 | on all levels of their health and well-being. |
| 1:59.2 | So you're needed, right? And I think it's important for us to take a step |
| 2:04.8 | back outside of our own lives and look at the bigger picture of the world right now, which |
| 2:10.5 | is in chaos, right? And I think it's becoming more and more apparent every day how much healing is needed out there in the world. |
| 2:19.8 | And I believe, and I'm sure that you do too, if you're here with me, that the potency and |
