Hey, this is Beth. Listen, what we live for at Living Proof is to serve people the Word of God.

We base our ministry on Hebrews 412 that tells us that the Word is alive and active. We pray this message is going to serve you in some way today and that God

is going to speak through it. Thank you so much for giving us this privilege. I want to remind

you of the context of our lesson. As we go back to John 15, this is going to be a part two

of some emphasis on prayer. I want to remind you of a place that we started last time in our lesson together,

I made a confession of an insecure mainline conservative evangelical.

And this was it.

It's supposed to be working.

We are supposed to be experiencing a lot.

I mean a vast amount of answered prayer.

That should not be the exception among us as believers.

It is part of our heritage.

It was part of the rights of sonship.

It is the way the believing life is supposed to be. So when we are seeing very

little answered prayer, there is something dysfunctioning someplace. And that's what you and I are

trying to work out because this was not just meant for the teachers, the preachers, and the Sunday

school leaders. This is meant for every single

person in Christ. And we want to be able to take this apart and see what the conditions are to a very

profound promise. I want to pick up John 15, verse 5, I am the vine, you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him,

he will bear much fruit apart from me. You can do nothing. Now, I want you to picture something with me

this morning because it's not like us hanging on. If you picture almost the hand of Christ and us hanging on, that is not the

idea of the vine and the branches, because there's still a disconnection. There may be the warmth
