0:09.7	When last we left you on Bible Book Club in chapters 5 and 6, we were really getting into it and it was rich.
0:17.7	So we started talking about Moses in the second sermon to the Israelites. Moses started
0:22.2	this sermon with a challenge to obey the Ten Commandments. Then he moved to the motivation
0:27.5	to obey the commandments. Love. In chapter 6, verse 4, we read the Shama, or the prayer that is still
0:35.5	recited by Jews today. Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord
0:40.3	is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your
0:45.2	strength. Jesus used the Shama in combination with Leviticus 1918 to form the first and second
0:53.3	greatest commandments in Matthew 2237, And that was my Bible bender,
0:57.8	my personal Bible bender from last episode. And he said in verse 37, love the Lord your God with all
1:03.9	your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.
1:08.4	And the second is like it. Love your neighbor as yourself.
1:12.3	All the law and the prophets hang on these two commandments. And it was a Bible bender for me because
1:18.3	not that I didn't know that Jesus really knew the scriptures well, but he just takes everything to
1:24.3	another level. And it's because he knows better than us.
1:28.2	And so we should listen to what he says.
1:30.0	It's like he pulls it all together in just a brilliant way.
