city where I was born Detroit, Michigan. You've probably heard the rumors. Detroit has finally turned itself around again. And it looks like it from, you know, national TV during coverage of crowds outside Tigers' baseballs or Lions football games in a glittering new downtown that is far more welcoming to tourists and white suburbanites than the city's neighborhoods and surrounding communities.

But that concept of the city's future is very different from the present that's taking place in Detroit's

neighborhoods of longtime residents and communities that have been through thick and

thin yet still remain and they're fighting for their rights that they increasingly

see slipping away from them. Among the groups fighting back is Detroit eviction

defense that has had great success in keeping homeowners in their homes

despite the threats of unfair taxation and mortgage foreclosures or other unethical

practice by speculators and investors who have little oversight from the city.

Not only is there little oversight, but there's also poor management of tax records and payments

that can also lead to someone being evicted from their home despite

being completely paid up on their taxes.
