So what is determination? Determination is two different words mixed together. It's the word D, D.E.

It's also a word that means terminate. So you put those two together. The word D means completely, and then the word terminate means to be destroyed.

Right. And so the word determined, it means to be completely,

to completely destroy something, to completely terminate something. And that is the kind of like

unbreakable loyalty that God calls us to have with him. To look at everything else in the world and say,

Can we say that we have that kind of determination to follow the Lord?

And only those who are going to taste and see the Lord is good, only those who are going to know

the meaning of life and all that kind of stuff are those who have that kind of determination.

Only those who are going to be able to walk into heaven are going to be those people who have

completely destroyed everything that doesn't have to do with God in their life, right? And that doesn't mean

that you can't work a secular job. It doesn't mean that you can't, that you have to stop

everything and go serve out of church. You can serve God outside of the church. But what is your

motivation? Is your motivation an undying loyalty to God or undying loyalty to somebody in this world. And so let's get into

1 Corinthians chapter 2 verses 1 and 2. It says, and I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come

proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. For I decided I to know nothing among you except
