Hello and good morning. Welcome back to Sociology 101. I hope you're having a good Saturday morning. I know that I am and just thought I would get on this morning

and have a time of interaction with some of my theology geek friends online,

as well as engage with a recent podcast.

Matter of fact, I learned, as I was going through this,

this is their first broadcast called the Particular Baptist,

which you can probably see where they stand

just by the title of their podcast, that they are very particular in the limited view of their

atonement. And so they bring a critique against provisionism and me in specific with regard to

a article that I wrote years ago on Calvinism and evangelism.

And in this particular article, I give, first of all, a testimony about my own history with evangelism as a Calvinist.

And so that I was on the mission field as a Calvinist.

I continued to be evangelistic as a Calvinist.

And I, in a sense, rebuked those who try to equate

anti-evangelism with Calvinism because that's obviously not always the case.

John Piper and MacArthur and many of the leading Calvinists that we know today are very evangelistic

and missions-minded, and we're thankful for that.

But we went on to critique the logical

inconsistency of some of the claims within Calvinism. One of the questions that oftentimes arises

when Calvinism is first introduced to somebody is, well, why evangelize? Because that's the first

thing that comes to people's mind. If God's going to save people regardless of my involvement,

then why do I need to get involved?

It's kind of the logic of it.
