Today we're discussing Detention.

directed by John Sue. This is the now playing co-host who spends all of his time in Detention, Arnie.

Ed Stewart. And this is Justin. And you can call it Detention if you want, but school is out

on the video game retrospective with this podcast gentleman. There is nothing left to cover.

At least in this moment there are no other video game movies we have not covered. I mean I think

there's a few, but like they were made for foreign markets and never had an American equivalent.

So they don't count. And neither do direct to video animated films. Right. Yes. We have to

standard somewhere and God knows we set the bar real low. So yeah this is going to be like Flynn's

arcade right. We're not coming back until it's dusty and 20 years later from now.

Hmm there are video game movies being made. We'll talk about it. It won't be that long.

But I don't know like the other thing was like all right we started with Donkey Kong, King of Kong.

What the hell is Detention? I have never heard of this game. I haven't either, but it was a game

that was made back in 2017 specifically for download. It was for Steam that game store that runs

on PC and Mac and I hadn't heard of Detention, but I went out to Steam and picked it up. It was

only a few bucks and played it. It is a real throwback. It is a adventure game like King's Quest or

one of those real old ones where you walk into a room and you pick up a key and you pick up a note

and have to decipher the note to figure out the puzzle and you walk for room to room. It really felt

like somebody's hobby. It didn't feel like a professional game. Even the graphics kind of looked like
