So getting back to the interview with these detectives,

they told her absolutely horrific things

that had happened to her daughter.

And she just didn't respond, in my opinion,

in the way that a normal human being response,

if anyone heard that this horror occurred to their child,

I think you would be inconsolable.

A normal person would be inconsolable, yet it took a while for it to register in her brain.

And then when he told her, near the end of the interview,

he said, Stefan Stearns murdered your daughter.

And she said, I won't believe she's dead until we recover the body.

So she was still in denial, even though she was shown photos of Madeline in the car in the front seat, dead.

Even though they told her about Stefan driving around with her dead body.

Just, you know, absolutely horrific.
